I cannot figure out how to mark Email as spam. I thought I could set swipe action as spam is a choice. However, the left swipe function does not seem to work except for delete. And right swipe does not work at all.

This is NOT a question, it IS a solution to a problem with Thunderbird mobile. Please read below. (I did not report it as a bug because I'm not sure whether or not the setting is intentional, but it is causing problems.)

My web host recently migrated their email servers to #MailChannels. As a result, I suddenly found myself unable to send email outside my domains from Thunderbird #mobile. (However, I could still send to and receive from my own domains, and receive from senders outside my domains -- and Thunderbird desktop was unaffected and working just fine.)

After multiple emails were exchanged with web host support, an answer was finally found: in the Thunderbird mobile app, go to General Settings > Privacy and enable the Hide email client option. Doing this removes an incomplete #User-Agent entry from the headers and allows email from Thunderbird mobile to be successfully processed by MailChannels.

The web host support technician who relayed this solution to me earlier today also said he had encountered this issue several times today. In my opinion, Mozilla should consider a) removing the incomplete User-Agent entry from the headers; b) enabling the Hide email client option by default; or b) making current and future users of the Thunderbird mobile app of the potential problem and solution so they can determine for themselves the appropriate action.

However, it is up to Mozilla to determine the correct course of action, if any. I hope this helps them become aware of the issue so they can make that determination.

Since past few weeks I have been observing that read/unread status of my emails are not correctly being synced.

I'm almost always finding that emails in my gmail account that I have already read on mobile appear unread when I open gmail on my pc browser. Same goes vice versa. Entire same thing also happens for my outlook account.

Any solutions?

Since they are at the bottom by default, a lot of scrolling is required in case of a long message thread.

Having the attachments on the top after the subject line will solve this for me.

Hello, I dont know why but one of my email accounts set to constantly push didn't work last night and I missed a couple of important ones and I can't have that happen again. What can I do to troubleshoot this, because I can't use a client that can have a malfunction in something as basic like this. Also, it's not the first time. So it's random and sporadic that one of my addresses can't have email pushed when sent.

The topic could be settings either if I have not used a setting that I should have. If I delete an email on my PC it does not delete on my phone. However If I delete an email on my phone it also deletes from my PC. I really need this the other way round because I am more likely to tidy up my phone and deal with emails later on my PC. I am only at the beginning of learning to use the features of Thunderbird so any basic help that you can offer would be much appreciated. I set up a filter for a newsletter that comes very often so that I can delete it in blocks when it becomes out of date. I set up a new folder for it in my inbox. This is working well and the new folder and contents appear on my phone and Kindle. However my plan was to be able to read and delete emails from this folder on my PC with the expectation that they would then be deleted from my phone and Kindle. However they are still there. I am sure that there must be a box somewhere that I have failed to tick or untick and so if you could point me in the right direction then I should be most grateful. Thank you Patricia

The new Android version of Thunderbird can't properly send emails to a Gmail address. The emails are blocked by mailchannel.com as having spam content. My host (a2hosting.com) indicates it is a problem with how the email is constructed. This is not a problem for the desktop edition.

When will TB (or K-9) for ANDROID be able to connect with Hostgator email (IMAP preferably)? I follow the settings for manual set-up that Hostgator provides, and they do NOT work on either of your Android apps. They do work for TB on my desktops (Windows and Linux). And I can use K-9 for other email providers (one of which requiring manual settings set-up too)

It's a known issue on the internet already from my researching.

I called Hostgator, and they said it's a problem on the app side (Mozilla). (Then hung up on me. Smooth.)

Please advise if there's some special setting required. Thx.

HI I have the latest Thunderbird installed on my Redmi Note 8 Pro (Android 11). When I try to write an email and add an attachment (e.g., a photo), the system file manager opens. After selecting the file, it doesn't appear in Thunderbird. Sharing a file from the file manager via Thunderbird results in the same issue. Only when sharing a file through the system Gallery app to Thunderbird can I attach and send it successfully. In the permissions settings for Thunderbird, I only see options for Camera and Contacts. There is no option for Files and Media. I couldn't find a solution to this problem anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, I download latest Thunderbird Android version ( dic 2024 ). I have several accounts loaded. When i use unified Inbox i do not see all the emails that it is supposed to be there. I mean all the messages from all the accounts. I know because i go to one specific email account inbox to another and i see messages from today or yesterday and these messages are not on unified inbox. I understand that unified inbox is an inbox for ALL the messages on ALL the accounts, isnt it? Another issue is because the loading of old messages and the search feature related. I dont know why but on a specific inbox, thunderbird android only load a very little quantity of messages ( 20 - 30 ) and no more. And there is not any command to load these month messages, or the prior month message or all the messages from these year, or latest year. There are not these kind of command. So when i do a search on a specific inbox i do not retrive any message because thunderbird android does not retrieve nor load more than just the 20 or 30 latest messages. I see 2 issues to take care on.
